Who on earth am I?
Hiya, I'm Amy and I just have so many thoughts about the media I read and watch. And apparently, my discussions are "skillfully articulate" and "in depth" according to my professors and random people online. So, I decided to create this blog to put all my thoughts and discussions together for your reading and my sanity.
I'm studying writing at the moment and I love both the literature side and the screenwriting side of writing. I'm actually working on a novel fantasy series and I've always got some practice works on the side - I'm not kidding. I've written three, have another unfinished, and have notes for EIGHT other ones that I may or may not write at some point.
What is this blog about?
Basically, I'm gonna use this blog to talk about all of my favourite films, TV shows, and books that my brain just latches onto and hyperfixates over for the longest time. I am a professional when it comes over hyperfixating on fictional universes, usually fantasy or historical fantasy so expect the big fantasy universes to be pretty dominant in this space.
Also, most of the things I'll be talking about, I've already finished so I am aware of how the story ends. So because of that, please be mindful of spoilers. Unless I give a disclaimer that I haven't watched or read something in its entirety, I will be referencing future events like deaths of main characters and such.
I'm not too crazy on the technical side of media so I won't always be going deep into analysis. My main reason for loving media is that the world is immersive and the plot is compelling and the characters are interesting. Being a writing student, I do sometimes enjoy talking about the themes and relationship dynamics and my absolute favourite thing - character arcs!
That said, this blog is just to have a chat like we're sitting on the couch with a cup of tea and rambling on about whatever comes to mind so if you're down for a casual chat, welcome!
